Ukraine's state postal operator Ukrposhta said it was hit by a cyberattack overnight, causing disruptions to its mobile application and some digital services on June 25.

“Due to an overnight hostile cyberattack on IT systems, the Ukrposhta mobile application is temporarily experiencing disruptions,” the state postal operator said in a Facebook post.

The company said its specialists are already working to restore the application’s functionality and that technical issues are expected to be resolved shortly.

On June 23, 2026, the National Bank of Ukraine determined that Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilianskyi did not meet the professional suitability requirements established for the head of a financial payment services provider. The government was instructed to suspend him from the position.

Smilianskyi sharply criticized the central bank’s demand for his dismissal, accusing the National Bank of obstructing efforts to establish a postal bank.
