Ukraine’s largest privately held power utility company DTEK Energy plans to invest UAH 3.9 billion ($96.3 million) in repairing its generation
facilities destroyed by Russian attacks in 2024, DTEK CEO Ildar Saleev said in
a Facebook post on June 12.
“This matches last year's investments,’ said Saleev.
“9.2 GW of generation capacity in the grid is gone. More than 80% of DTEK's thermal power plants have been damaged or destroyed.”
According to the CEO, while DTEK is mobilizing internal resources for restoration efforts, assistance from the state is still very much necessary: “No company can handle such extensive destruction on its own.”
He added that Ukraine’s Energy Ministry is consolidating equipment needs across all energy companies to locate and procure the hardware abroad in a centralized manner.
