By 7:00 p.m. Kyiv time, the company apologized for the error caused by a technical glitch and pledged full refunds on the overcharges.
“We sincerely apologize for this situation and understand your frustration,” Glovo said in a Facebook post.
“Our technical specialists have already fixed the error. All
excessively charged funds will be returned to users in full. We will notify you
when the situation is fully resolved and the refund process is complete.”
At around 2:00 p.m., a Threads user,
"bagatogranna_," posted a screenshot showing the app charged UAH5,175
($120) in tips. Other Threads users reported similar cases. A user with the
handle "ye.the.cute" said UAH11,055 ($257) were charged as a tip.
Another user, "ast.belaya," said an attempt was made to charge her UAH6,685
($155) for a tip, but the money was refunded because the order was not
received.
