A few months ago, representatives of the cryptocurrency platform triple-a.io stated that Ukraine was the world leader in the number of cryptocurrency owners in relation to the total population of the country.
According to them, there are 5,565,881 cryptocurrency owners in Ukraine, or about 12.73% of the population. In second place is Russia, with 17.37 million people or 11.91% of the population, and in third place is Venezuela (2.9 million or 10.34%).
Gradus calculated that more than 20% of Ukrainians aged 18-24 had conducted a cryptocurrency transaction at least once in their lives.“
Although the most popular method of saving and increasing funds among Ukrainians remains the purchase of a common currency (32.6%), the purchase of cryptocurrency in our country is already more common than investments in securities,” Gradus Research founder and director Yevheniia Blyzniuk said.
“And, of course, the new generation feels much more confident in this industry, since they have been connected to the global virtual space since childhood. Older people prefer the good old precious metals and real estate.”
According to the study, 77% of crypto holders have their own crypto wallet, 31.5% spend cryptocurrency on real commodities, and 18.9% use them for video games.
A total of 1,000 respondents took part in the Gradus Research online survey.
According to Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, in Ukraine the daily turnover of virtual assets is UAH 1 billion, but it remains a shadow industry.
