Vodka production decreased by 11% to 31.38 million dal, and brandy distilling fell 17% to 3.45 million dal.
Following the Jan. 1 introduction of a 17% increase in minimum retail prices for spirits, the production of beverages with an alcohol content exceeding 9% dropped by almost 10%, reaching 46.83 million dal.
Wines and sparkling wines were the only alcoholic beverages with increased production, up 12.4% and 18.5%, respectively.
Products with low alcohol content showed the largest decline of 91.6% to 725,400 dal.
In 2024, sales of hard liquor in Russia reached an eight-year high of 8.5 liters per capita, which is an increase of more than one liter per person compared to the pre-Ukrainian war period. Vodka accounted for 5.3 liters of this volume.
