Transport visa-free with Turkey will be valid until the end of the war

Visa-free transport, or the liberalization of freight transportation with Turkey, includes two-way cargo transportation and transit transportation.

“Continued liberalization of freight transportation is an example of decision-making based on figures and real indicators of positive impact on the bilateral transportation market. Of all the exports we supply to Turkey, about 15% are delivered by road. Turkish companies import almost 60% of the total volume of goods to us by road, “ said Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.

No permits are therefore required for cargo and transit transportation. The agreements include permit-free passage for empty trucks.

The number of permits for freight transportation to/from third countries was also increased by one thousand to 3,500.

“We also pay great attention to the transportation of passengers in cooperation with Turkey,” Deputy Minister Serhii Derkach said.

“As part of international bus transport reform, we are verifying all bus routes in order to have an up-to-date network, and to enable businesses to open new ones. We are working on the possibility of non-regular transportation - we have agreed on 400 permits for this kind of trips. Part of these permits will be delivered to Ukraine to be issued to carriers in the near future.”

Liberalization of freight transportation, i.e. the ability to carry out transportation without the need for special permits is available to 35 countries, including the countries of the European Union. The team of the Ministry of Reconstruction managed to agree on such a possibility with Norway, North Macedonia and extend the corresponding agreement with Moldova only over the last year.

Turkey will assist in opening Mykolaiv Oblast’s ports for Black Sea navigation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said earlier.
