“We are additionally allocating 3 billion hryvnias from the state budget’s reserve fund for urgent current repairs of high-traffic national roads. The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development and the Recovery Agency have been tasked with significantly accelerating the pace of work,” Svyrydenko said.
The prime minister уточнила that routine repairs on international highways must be completed by May 1, and all major works by June 1, 2026.
Earlier reports said that, according to Serhii Sukhomlyn, head of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development, no funds have been allocated for major road repairs in 2026.
Deputy Prime Minister Kuleba also said that the funds allocated in the 2026 state budget for road maintenance are critically insufficient.
