EU approves $3.3 billion Ukraine aid tranche tied to reforms progress

The EU
Council has approved an EUR2.8 billion ($3.3 billion) tranche of financial
support under the Ukraine Facility program, Ukrainian PM Yuliia Svyrydenko said
on May 28.
As envisaged by Ukraine Facility, the disbursement is tied to Kyiv implementing a roadmap of economic and governance reforms. According to Svyrydenko, 86 steps of the reform plan are done, with 65 more still in progress.
“We continue to implement reforms and move toward European integration,” the PM wrote in a Telegram post.
“We are sincerely grateful to our European partners for their support and trust.”
She added that, with this decision, the total funding disbursed to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility since 2024 has reached EUR26.8 billion ($31 billion).
Interfax-Ukraine reported that the payment was made after the European Commission gave a positive assessment of Ukraine’s progress on the plan’s benchmarks for Q4 2025.

planned for June and followed passage by the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian
parliament) of several EU-integration bills.
