NBU allows foreign currency withdrawals, within limits
The National Bank of Ukraine has relaxed some restrictions on withdrawals of foreign currency, permitting withdrawals of up to UAH 30,000 ($1,000), the regulator said on March, 1.
Corresponding documents outlining such restrictions, that were adopted at the outbreak of Russia’s war on Ukraine on Feb. 24, were amended.
Organizations and businesses that are involved in the war effort can withdraw foreign currency from their accounts with freely, with no limitations.
The NBU also allowed cash withdrawals in commercial bank branches in areas that are under threat of Russian occupation.
The NBU halted forex trading in the country on Feb. 24, fixed currency exchange rates, and introduced a daily cash withdrawal limit of UAH 100,000 ($3,329).
