Uber taxi service resumes work in Kharkiv

Taxi service Uber is back on the road in the city of Kharkiv "for the purpose of supporting the rebuilding of the city," a message released by the company on Sept. 26 reads.
For the first month, Uber is offering a 50% discount on all rides. Also, the company will not charge a service fee – so 100% of the cost of trips will go to local drivers.
“We believe that recent developments in Kharkiv Oblast will encourage more businesses and citizens to return to the city to restore its life and economy as soon as possible,” said Marchin Mochirog, regional general manager of Uber in Central and Eastern Europe.
At the moment, Uber continues to operate in 18 cities of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Bila Tserkva, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr, Chernivtsi, Khmelnitsky, Lutsk, Rivne, Kremenchuk, Cherkasy, Kropyvnytskyi, Uzhhorod and Kharkiv.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian taxi service Uklon was launching an international franchise. The priorities are the markets of the Baltic countries and Eastern Europe.
