Some 52.8% of Ukrainians employed in Poland have already mastered Polish in order to later get a highly qualified job there, according to the results of a survey conducted by the analytical center of the international employment agency Gremi Personal.

A total of 1,440 Ukrainian citizens employed in Poland took part in the survey.

Another 35% of migrants plan to start studying in the near future, while 12.2% claim that in order to provide themselves with a decent standard of living in Poland, knowledge of their native language is enough for them.

"The average salary even in labor specialties, which are mainly occupied by Ukrainians in Poland, is UAH 28,000-32,000 per month,” said director of Gremi Personal's recruitment department, Anna Jobolda.

“This is approximately twice as much as in Ukraine. At the same time, Poles are ready to invite Ukrainians to highly qualified positions, where this (amount) can increase significantly. The main barrier that separates educated Ukrainians from decent work outside of Ukraine is knowledge of foreign languages."

Jobolda added that it was mainly Ukrainians who do not plan to return to Ukraine for at least another six months or a year who have begun to seriously study Polish.

Since the beginning of the summer of 2022, Poland has been running state programs to provide free Polish language courses for all refugees from Ukraine. The programs are funded by the Polish Labor Fund.
