Wise stops issuing new digital cards to Ukrainians
The international money transfer service Wise stopped issuing new digital cards to Ukrainians from Aug. 12, one of the users of the fin-tech company’s services posted on Twitter, quoting a message from the service.
“From Aug. 12, we won’t be issuing new digital Wise cards in Ukraine,” the company said in the message.
“Unfortunately, we’ve had to temporarily stop issuing digital cards for customers with a registered address in Ukraine. This means that you won’t be able to get a new Wise digital card anymore.”
Wise stressed that cards already issued would continue to work. Ukrainian customers will still be able to send, receive and hold money in different currencies, it said.
Wise also called the corresponding decision temporary, but did not specify the approximate terms and conditions under which the service would become available again.
