A major cold snap is expected in most regions of Ukraine this week, beginning on March 27, weather forecaster Natalia Didenko predicted on her Facebook page.
Western Ukraine will begin to see temperatures drop to between +2 to +5 degrees, with overnight lows below zero. Eastern Ukraine can expect to see the same drop on March 28-29, she said.
"A southern active cyclone from the Mediterranean with atmospheric fronts will arrive in Ukraine on these days,” she said.
“As we know, a cyclone means precipitation and strong winds. The cyclone will bring precipitation from the south, but it will fall on a cool surface as chilled air will arrive in Ukraine from the north and northwest ahead of time. Therefore, the rain will turn into sleet and snow, with the sleet sticking in some areas. It is clear that we still need to wait to (change) to summer tires, take out our Spring wardrobe, and wait to move flowers to balconies. Take care of your health — have something ready for blood pressure, headaches, and joint problems."
