Jim Loveless won’t meet readers in Kyiv as planned

British motivational speaker and author Jim Loveless has canceled his planned appearance in Kyiv on July 25, with publisher BookChef citing the reason for the postponement on July 13.

The event was postponed “due to the worsening martial law in Ukraine and for security reasons,” organizers said.

“It is with deep sadness that we are forced to announce that due to the worsening martial law in Ukraine and for security reasons, the organizers have made the difficult decision to postpone the event with the participation of our author Jim Loveless,” read a statement from BookChef, which has since been deleted. “We are actively working on the possibility of postponing the event to a safer period.”

Ukrainian journalist Lena Chichenina drew attention to the cancellation and shared her reaction on Facebook.

“A very complete scumbag from the world of literature,” she wrote. “In Kyiv, the meeting with Jim Loveless was postponed. All because a motivator is afraid to go where it is scary. We are waiting for the Master after he works out his courage. Perhaps at the courses of other Masters. In Bali or at some retreat, I don’t know.”

As previously reported, the Yakaboo book platform compiled a list of its top 10 best-selling self-development books for NV this spring. The top titles include works with autobiographical elements and guidance on how to change one’s life.
