Russian soldier went to war drunk and calls himself a fool
A Russian soldier said he joined the war in Ukraine while drunk, according to the Telegram channel Butusov Plus on March 11.
Danil Eisengud, call sign Voron, served as a rifleman in Russia’s 5th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade.
A native of Chelyabinsk, he said he enlisted after a drunken night with a friend.
“I fought with my wife, got drunk, and decided to go to war. Then my wife told me I was a complete idiot,” he said.
On his first mission, he was sent into a house with no supplies and was later captured near Kurakhove.
He described the Russian command’s treatment of soldiers as cynical: “They don’t care about us. All that matters is that we spend money on radios and fuel. Those who refused orders were taken to the field and shot. We’re just cannon fodder here.”
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
