Russian military trucks spotted hauling stolen watermelons from occupied Ukrainian territory — photo
Russian invaders were seen transporting watermelons on military trucks from occupied Ukrainian territory, a local official said on Telegram on Aug. 22.
“And we haven’t seen such relocations before. The Russians are hauling watermelons in military trucks. For themselves,” Andryushchenko said in a comment to the photo.
He also called the Russian invaders looters.
The aggressor country systematically removes harvests from the occupied territories of Ukraine. According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, it has stolen about 15 million tons of Ukrainian grain.
The invaders have taken it from Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhya oblasts and Crimea.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the seized grain is mixed with Russian grain in Black Sea ports before being exported.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
