Ukrainian video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 delayed until winter 2022
Ukrainian game development studio GSC Game World has officially rescheduled the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the sequel to its award-winning first-person shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R., for Dec. 8, 2022.
The initial release was planned for April 28, but the developers decided to push this back by nearly seven-and-a-half months in order to "present their own vision" and "bring the game to (their) desired condition,” the studio announced.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is expected to expand greatly on the gameplay of its predecessor, which was set in a fictionalized version of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. According to the developers, it will take about 100 hours to explore the entire S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 in-game world.
New mutant types, anomalies, factions, and weapons will also appear in the game.
