In March and April 2025, the 412th Nemesis Unmanned Systems Regiment destroyed 60 Russian Shahed and Gerbera attack drones, according to a post on its official Facebook page on May 2.
Ukrainian fighters with the Nemesis regiment intercepted 24 enemy drones in March and 36 in April, according to a regiment report.
To achieve this, Ukrainian officers said the regiment deployed experimental drone interceptors. Each of these drones costs approximately $5,000, while the enemy Shahed drones are valued at $150,000, and the Gerbera drones at $10,000.
"Ukraine is the first country in the world to destroy reconnaissance and strike UAVs using interceptor drones," said Artem Belenkov, chief of staff of the Nemesis regiment. "In 2022-2023, strike drones helped make up for the lack of artillery. By 2025, these drones are responsible for 75% of the destruction of enemy forces and equipment.
In 2024, we began using strike drones to shoot down enemy reconnaissance UAVs, and in 2025, we started targeting strategic strike drones like the Shahed. Ukrainian drones, in the professional hands of our fighters, can preserve infrastructure and save expensive air defense systems."
On Feb. 18, the Khortytsia OSUV press service reported that the Nemesis regiment’s 412th separate unit hit a North Korean M-1978 Koksan self-propelled artillery system in Luhansk for the first time.
“We are adding another piece of destroyed enemy military equipment to the Nemesis collection,” the report said.
On April 7, the regiment confirmed the destruction of a Russian Buk-M3 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile system, valued at around $100 million. Intelligence tracked its movement, and Ukrainian forces hit the air defense system with support from other Ukrainian Defense Forces units.
By April 9, the Nemesis regiment reported it had destroyed 100 Russian tanks during its combat operations. The regiment noted that the most productive periods for destroying enemy equipment were autumn and winter 2024, with November 2024 and February 2025 being the most successful months.
