Russia conducted an overnight attack on Ukraine with Iranian Shahed drones, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Serhiy Popko reported on Telegram on Jan. 26.

About 15 of these UAVs were shot down in Kyiv's airspace.

The official said that there were no casualties or hits as a result of the attack. In total, several dozen drones were launched at Kyiv.

Air Force Command reported that Russia used a total of 24 Shahed drones in the early hours of Jan. 26, all of which were shot down by Ukrainian air defense units.

"According to operational information, there is a high probability of further enemy air attacks during the day," Popko added.

In fact, Russia launched another massive missile attack on the whole of Ukraine at 7.45 a.m. on Jan. 26. Kyiv air defenses shot down all 20 missiles that targeted the capital, Popko later reported.

A 55-year-old man was killed by debris from a shot-down missile, and two people were injured in the attack, which lasted four hours and 22 minutes.
