A civilian stabbed a Ukrainian Territorial Recruitment Center serviceman in Kharkiv during conscription notification efforts, the local recruitment center reported on April 6.
The victim was hospitalized and is receiving medical treatment. The attacker fled the scene and remains at large, according to the military.
Officials vowed to quickly locate the suspect and hold him accountable.
“Military personnel responsible for notifying those subject to military service are officials performing their duties during wartime,” the post states.
“Any attempts to obstruct the notification process, insults, resistance, or attacks will have inevitable consequences; offenders will face appropriate administrative or criminal liability.”
A similar incident occurred on April 4 in Vinnytsia, where two TRC officers were stabbed during a military document check. The attacker there was also detained after injuring both men, who required hospitalization.
