Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast remains the hottest part of the frontline in Ukraine, with intense combat occurring just outside the town, Ukrainian military spokesperson Serhii Cherevatyi said on national television on Feb. 15.
Cherevatyi stated the Russian invaders are suffering immense losses in this area.
"In the past day alone, 119 occupiers' soldiers were killed and another 163 were injured,” he said.
“The enemy conducted 103 shelling [attacks] with different guns, artillery and MLRSs on and around Bakhmut over the course of the day. About 25 combat instances were registered, in general (in the past day).”
Ukrainian intelligence has reported that Russians have attacked Bakhmut and Vuhledar in Donetsk Oblast to delay the Ukrainian military’s counter-offensive.
