Belarus state propaganda stokes invasion fears
Minsk state propaganda outlets are claiming that Belarusian opposition is preparing to invade the country from abroad and attempt a coup, as seen from a Nov. 20 report by state TV channel Belta.
According to Belta, the “fugitive opposition” allegedly has plans to attack four regions in the southwest of Belarus. The report also claims that the initial assault would involve "bands of nationalists," followed by foreign mercenaries and even NATO forces.
“In Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania, military formations have been created with the support of local authorities,” the report claimed.
“They are being trained and prepared for the main task. The plans resemble those of fascists.”
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
