Belarusian dictator Lukashenko comments on US military aid to Ukraine
Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has voiced strong opposition to the United States' military aid to Ukraine, labeling it "the most important factor in the escalation of conflict," according to a report by BelTA on April 25.
Lukashenko argued that withholding such aid would be a missed opportunity to weaken both Belarus and Russia.
In his remarks, Lukashenko specifically pointed to the allocation of ATACMS missiles as posing significant dangers. He portrayed the Russian military as well-prepared for conflict, claiming it is "equipped with new weapons and has large reserves in each brigade," though he acknowledged that the occupiers' progress has been "very slow."
Lukashenko described the current situation as a kind of "zugzwang," a stalemate where neither Ukrainian nor Russian forces are making decisive advances.
According to NYT, in March, Ukraine secretly received more than 100 long-range ATACMS missiles and a large number of cluster munitions from the United States as part of a $300 million aid package.
