Biden refuses to hold talks with Putin until he ‘changes his behavior’
No talks can be held with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin until there is a significant shift in his behavior, U.S. President Joe Biden said at a press conference following NATO Summit in Washington on July 11.
This statement came amid Russia's confidence that it won the war in Ukraine.
"He has only captured 17.3% of Ukraine - and did it at great cost, as Russian suffered horrific human losses."
“They have lost over 350,000 troops, either killed or wounded, over a million young and educated people fled from Russia,” he reiterated Russian toll, which does not seem to disturb the Russian didctator at all.
"I see no reason to speak with Putin right now. There isn't much he's willing to do in terms of changing his behavior.”
“But there isn't a world leader I wouldn't engage with. Is Putin ready to talk?” he asked rhetorically.
The prospect of Russia fundamentally changing its attitude in the near future seems unrealistic.
Russia's ambitions wouldn't stop with Ukraine, as Putin's speech before the invasion evidenced.
