‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ with Russia, quips Blinken
The United States will not seek to normalize diplomatic relations with the current Russian regime, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said while delivering a commencement address at the University of Georgetown on May 21.

“My staff did not let me bring my guitar up here to dedicate a performance of ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,’ to (Russian) President Putin,” the secretary said, jokingly. “They said it would be ‘undiplomatic.’”
During an earlier appearance on a late-night TV talk show, Blinken said that a sovereign and independent Ukraine “will be around a lot longer” than Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
The United States is also exploring the possibility of designating Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
