Russian dictator Vladimir Putin “is getting more and more
hysterical,” former UK PM Boris Johnson said on Sept. 14, one day after Russian
drones struck
a train near the Polish border.
The Sept. 13 attack happened shortly after Johnson and other European dignitaries disembarked from another train nearby. Johnson made the comments on UK broadcaster GB News.
“If he [Putin] was trying to send a message, I think it was totally pointless,” Johnson said.
“You're looking at a pattern of behaviour by the Russian dictator which is getting more and more hysterical.”
“This is a guy who is absolutely on the back foot. He is losing record numbers of men and he is resorting to terroristic attacks on the heroic staff on Ukrainian railways, that is what's going on.”
He described the attack on the train as a symptom of Putin’s “crazed attempt to bully the Ukrainian population.”
“You've got to set whatever happened to whatever he may or may not have been trying to do on the Polish border in the context of his absolutely cruel, inhumane treatment of Ukrainian citizens,” he added.
He called on the European Union to confiscate frozen Russian assets and channel them towards arming Ukraine.
“We need to give them the technology they need to defend
themselves and the cash they need; this is not UK cash, this is Putin's cash we
can unfreeze and give to the Ukrainians,” Johnson said.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
