Ukrainian, U.S., and European officials will spend Nov. 4–5
discussing Ukraine’s post-war security
guarantees and reconstruction in Brussels, Ukrainian National Security and
Defense Council secretary Rustem Umerov said on Nov. 3.
“Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, my team and I will
work with our partners in Brussels,” Umerov wrote in a Telegram post.
“The agenda includes work on the Prosperity Plan and
security guarantees for Ukraine.”
The meeting will be hosted by the European Commission, he
said.
The Ukrainian delegation will work with representatives of
the United States, the European Commission, the United Kingdom, France,
Germany, NATO, and the World Bank.
Ukraine’s ministries of economy, finance, and defense, will
also participate.
“This continues the talks held in Florida and Oslo to
achieve peace in Ukraine,” Umerov added.
“Now, at the working-team level, we will go through in
detail the proposals concerning postwar reconstruction, economic development
and Ukraine’s long-term resilience.”
He also said that on Nov. 5, the Ukrainian delegation would
continue working on security guarantees for Ukraine with officials from the
United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
The Brussels talks are scheduled ahead of the Nov. 11 trilateral
Ukraine–U.S.–Russia talks in Abu Dhabi.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
