Ukraine should set up a single coordination center to
recruit foreign
nationals for voluntary military service, Presidential Office head Kyrylo
Budanov said on May 5.
“Ukraine needs to create a single coordination center to recruit foreign nationals for military service,” Budanov said during a meeting with MPs and senior officers.
“It should be an organizational unit that covers all stages: from search, selection and transport to training, logistics and other needs of foreign citizens.”
Pavlo Palisa, deputy head of the presidential office, said parts of the training and support could be handled by specific units of the Armed Forces or the National Guard that are interested not only in bolstering personnel but also in training recruits using their own experience and methods.
Budanov added that recruiting, assessing fitness and
training of contract servicemembers from other countries are currently carried
out by different agencies, which complicates oversight, coordination of needs
and provision of supplies.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
