Budanov shares memorable ‘Explosive Cake’ greeting on Military Intelligence Day – video
Kyrylo Budanov, Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) Head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, thanked his fellow comrades-in-arms and greeted them with an explosive cake video on Military Intelligence Day.
The video shows Budanov blowing out candles on a cake, followed by an explosion.
"Successful combat missions behind enemy lines, special operations, the release of hostages and prisoners of war make the contribution of intelligence officers in the struggle for sovereignty, territorial integrity of the state and freedom of millions of Ukrainians invaluable," he said in his Sept. 7 post on Telegram.
Ukrainian Special Forces raised the state flag in Crimea, a Ukrainian territory that has been under Russian military occupation since early 2014, during a bold raid on the Russian forces in the area. The successful HUR operation destroyed 30 occupiers and four boats.
Another HUR operation codenamed Nightingale was a meticulously planned and expertly executed mission by Ukrainian military intelligence. The result was the defection of a Russian pilot to Ukrainian territory, along with an Mi-8AMTSh PKS RF helicopter laden with components for combat aircraft. Two Russian crew members were eliminated, and Ukraine received an intact helicopter and obtained a significant amount of valuable intelligence.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
