Budanov meets with Rada committee chairs ahead of tax bill vote

Budanov met with the heads of parliamentary committees before the MPs
gather to vote on key tax reforms, Ukrainian state news agency Ukrinform
reported on April 6.
“During the meeting they discussed interaction between parliament and the presidential office, intensifying cooperation, and tomorrow's vote,” a source told Ukrinform. When asked whether the votes concerned taxes, the source said they referred to the bills scheduled on the Verkhovna Rada’s April 7 agenda.
The meeting comes after a series of public comments from ruling-party figures. On March 13, Andriy Motovilovets, first deputy head of the Servant of the People faction, said about 40 MPs were prepared to give up their mandates and that party leadership was having increasing difficulty gathering votes for bills needed to fill the budget and meet international obligations.
Motovilovets previously said MPs would concentrate on three
tax bills submitted by the Cabinet: a bill on taxing revenue earned from digital
platforms; a bill to extend the 5% military levy for three years after the end
of the war; and a bill to cancel VAT exemptions on imported parcels valued
under EUR150.
