Bulgaria has discovered surplus ammunition that it can provide to Ukraine, but such supplies must be compensated by allies, Bulgarian acting Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov said, BNR reported on July 22.

The Bulgarian Defense Ministry found the weapons that were considered redundant and unnecessary in the analysis.

"A part of this ammunition of can be provided to Ukraine," Zapryanov said.

"This package allocation should also be accompanied with an agreement on compensation from allied countries."

Bulgaria has already received about 30 million euros ($32.6 million) for the previous aid package to Ukraine. These funds are intended for the Bulgarian army modernization.
