Canada has called on its citizens to leave Russia, according to the advice posted on the website of the Government of Canada on Sept. 29.
The Canadian government has also urged Canadian citizens to avoid any travel to Russia due to the consequences of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, including partial military mobilization, restrictions on financial transactions, and increasingly limited flight options.
"If you are in Russia, you should leave while commercial means are still available,” the statement reads.
“If you remain in Russia, maintain a low profile.”
The Foreign Ministry added that Canadians who have Russian citizenship may be called up for compulsory military service.
On Sept. 28, the U.S. Embassy in Russia called on its citizens to immediately leave the territory of the aggressor country, while there are still limited opportunities for commercial travel.
On Sept. 27, Bulgaria recommended its citizens to leave the territory of Russia as soon as possible "due to the difficult situation".
