Chechen fighters ‘believe Russia may collapse sooner or later’

Kadyrovites, or fighters under the command of Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov, are already criticizing the Kremlin for its aggression against Ukraine and are preparing for Russia’s defeat in the war.
That’s according to Islam Belokiev, the spokesman for the volunteer Chechen force in Ukraine fighting Russian invasion forces, the Sheikh Mansur Battalion, who was speaking to Radio NV on March 29.
“The fact that a lot of Kadyrovites are buying real estate outside Russia, e.g. in Arab countries, in Turkey (a very large amount of real estate is bought by Kadyrovites), already indicates that they believe that Russia will collapse sooner or later and they will have to flee somewhere,” he said.
“Yes, maybe (they’re discussing this issue). But this is being done in very narrow circles and with very trusted people.”
The secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov, in an earlier interview to Radio NV claimed the existence of a sound library with conversations between members of the Russian elite.
A recording of an alleged phone conversation in which Russian music producer Yosif Prigozhin and billionaire and former Russian senator Farkhad Akhmedov slur Russian dictator Vladimir Putin went public in late March.
In the recording, Prigozhin and Akhmedov agreed that Putin has destroyed Russia’s future and that his regime has effectively collapsed.
Putin’s inner circle was also mentioned in the conversation. In particular, Prigozhin says that the Kremlin blames Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu for the failure of the Russian army.
Prigozhin and Akhmedov, in panic, ask what can be done next. They perceive the collapse of Putin’s regime as a fact that has already happened, but they are afraid of further events in Russia.
“On the one hand, there will be Kadyrovites (Chechen mercenaries), Prizhynites (Wagner Group mercenaries), and oprychniks (the dictator’s personal guards),” Akhmedov said.“They will start to wave daggers and sledgehammers.”
The interlocutors openly call the Kremlin authorities criminals and accuse them of depriving the country of future.
Prigozhin, when approached for comment, said he could not remember the conversation, and implied that the recording had been faked.
“Current technologies, neural networks, they let people fabricate not only voices but a whole conversation,” he said, Russian media reported.
Akhmedov has not yet commented on the recording.
