3 injured, 130 evacuated after Russia targets sleeping civilians in overnight attack on Odesa
Three people were injured in Odesa in Russia’s overnight drone strike on Jan. 17, Odesa Regional Administration head, Oleh Kiper, reported on Telegram.
"Russian terrorists attacked Odesa with kamikaze drones, damaging civilian residential infrastructure," Kiper wrote.
A fire broke out at the scene, leaving three civilians injured: a 62-year-old man wounded by shrapnel, a woman born in 1955, and a girl born in 1995. All three victims are receiving medical assistance.
Kiper reported that 130 civilians were evacuated from the damaged building.
Air raid alerts sounded in Odesa around 1:22 a.m. EET. The first reports of explosions emerged about 20 minutes later. The alert was canceled at 2:13 a.m.
