Tusk confirms Russia may soon expand war beyond Ukraine

Poland’s allies have warned
Warsaw of a possible Russian armed provocation in the coming months, Polish PM
Donald Tusk said on July 3.
Tusk was commenting on media reports about U.S. intelligence pointing toward Moscow planning to test NATO’s resolve.
“I don't mean to scare anyone, but the coming months may truly be critical, also due to the changing nature of the war,” the PM said at a press conference.
“These concerns are particularly palpable in the Baltic states.”
He added that Poland is aware of the level of threat thanks in part to information from its allies.
Earlier the same day, The Telegraph, citing sources close to Polish President Karol Nawrocki, reported that the United States warned Poland that Russia was planning an armed "provocation" on Polish soil.
“Polish critical infrastructure could be targeted by missiles and drones or Russian soldiers could cross the border into NATO territory,” the report said.
“The goal of the Russian provocation would be to escalate
tensions and force Western allies to suspend aid to Ukraine. It could be
launched in a matter of months.”
