Russian troops advance near two Donetsk settlements – DeepState

Russian forces have advanced near two settlements in Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast, according to the DeepState analytical project, which reported the developments on Jan. 24.

In particular, according to analysts, enemy forces advanced near Predtechyne and Stupochky.

On Jan. 20, reports said Russian occupation forces had advanced near Rodynske and Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast.

On Jan. 19, DeepState reported that Russian troops continue to amass increasing amounts of infantry in Pokrovsk, gradually enveloping the city, consolidating their presence and establishing positions based on the terrain they control.

Analysts say the Russian army has recently intensified operations toward Hryshyne. Russian forces are frequently spotted around the settlement, with strikes also recorded inside it.

On Jan. 12, the 7th Air Assault Corps said Russian troops had stepped up attempts to infiltrate the northern part of Pokrovsk, above the railway line, using assault groups.

On Jan. 8, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said Ukrainian defense forces control the northern part of Pokrovsk and are holding back Russian troops in Myrnohrad.
