Denmark allocates $290 million to Ukraine’s air defense
Denmark will spend EUR 280 million ($290 million) to further bolster Ukraine’s air defenses and maintain its growing fleet of F-16 fighter jets, the Danish Defense Ministry announced on Dec. 19.
This marks Denmark's 23rd military aid package, focusing primarily on enhancing air defense capabilities.
Furthermore, the package includes financial support for the operation of Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets.
“One of Ukraine's most urgent needs is the ability to defend against Russian airstrikes,” said Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
“Therefore, we have prioritized increasing support for air defense.”
On Dec. 9, Denmark announced plans to accelerate the delivery of Caesar self-propelled artillery systems to Ukraine, moving the timeline from 2026 to 2025.
On Dec. 7, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the second batch of F-16 fighter jets from Denmark had arrived in Ukraine.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
