Penza’s Joint Stock Company Freight Motor Transport Enterprise No. 2 is on fire after an overnight drone attack, the Astra Telegram channel reported on Jan. 6.

Analysis of eyewitness videos suggests that drones hit a facility at ZAT GATP-2 in the city’s Shuist microdistrict on Druzhba Street.

The enterprise specializes in managing and renting non-residential property, and its premises are occupied by multiple companies, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact impact site.

Regional Governor Oleg Melnichenko claimed that a total of eight Ukrainian drones were intercepted over Penza Oblast overnight. Emergency efforts to mitigate the consequences of the attack are ongoing.

Earlier in the day, residents reported seeing bright flashes and hearing about ten explosions in the eastern part of Penza overnight.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
