Repeat drone strike hits VNIIR-Progress plant in Cheboksary

A drone attack again hit Cheboksary, the capital of Russia’s
Chuvash Republic, with at least one drone striking VNIIR-Progress, a plant that
produces Kometa jam-resistant navigation modules for Russian missiles.
The strike was documented in eyewitness footage analyzed by Astra OSINT analyst. The video was
filmed from 9th Pyatiletki Avenue in Cheboksary, 1.3 kilometers from the
VNIIR-Progress facility.
Oleg Nikolayev, head of Chuvashia, confirmed renewed strikes
on Cheboksary but did not identify the targets. The regional Health Ministry
said three people were injured in the overnight attack. Traffic was partially
blocked in the city, while schools and technical colleges switched to remote
learning.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed it had “shot down” 43
Ukrainian drones over a two-hour period above Bryansk, Kursk, Kaluga, Smolensk,
Tula, Volgograd and Voronezh oblasts, as well as the Republic of Adygea and the
Moscow Oblast.
The ministry’s statement did not mention the Chuvash
Republic, where drones struck a defense plant in the morning.
A strike on the VNIIR-Progress plant in Cheboksary was also
recorded overnight on May 5. The Telegram channel Exilenova+ suggested that
attack may have involved Flamingo missiles.
