Waves of drones wreak havoc in Moscow overnight
A series of explosions and air defense operations rattled the Russian capital and its suburbs late on Sep. 22, according to numerous reports by residents on social media.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed that air defenses had allegedly shot down more than 20 drones that were flying toward the city.
“Emergency services are at the site of the drones' wreckage,” he wrote.
The Russian Federal Aviation Authority, Rosaviatsia, imposed temporary flight restrictions at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport.
Besides Moscow, explosions were also reported in the Odintsovo, Konkovo, Kuzminki, and Chertanovo districts.
The Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula was also targeted in the overnight drone attack.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
