On the evening of Oct. 26 and overnight into Oct. 27, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles in several waves of strikes. Damage was reported to a dormitory and a building of the State University of Trade and Economics near the Lisova metro station on Kyiv’s left bank, as well as a hit on the Southern Bridge and an administrative building in the Podilskyi district on the right bank.

One person was killed and 14 residents of the capital were injured in the attacks. Nine of them were hospitalized.

In addition, after the overnight Russian attack, a section of the metro between the Darnytsia and Chernihivska stations and the exits of the Lisova station were damaged. However, service on the red line has been restored at all stations. On the green line, trains are temporarily not running between the Osokorky and Chervonyi Khutir stations because of damage to infrastructure at the Southern Bridge.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
