Left-bank Kyiv loses electricity as DTEK promises restoration by 4 p.m.

Energy crews are working to restore power to residents of
Kyiv’s Dniprovskyi and Darnytskyi districts after electricity was cut because
of an accident, DTEK’s press service reported.
The company said power should be restored by 4 p.m.
“Dniprovskyi and Darnytskyi districts of Kyiv: energy
workers are restoring power after an accident. Electricity should be restored
to homes by 4 p.m.,” the statement said.
Earlier reports said power was out in Kyiv’s Holosiyivskyi,
Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts. The funicular and trolleybuses No. 43 and
No. 50 on Sobornosti Avenue stopped running.
On June 22, Ukrenergo’s press service said a massive Russian strike caused
power outages in seven Ukrainian oblasts: Sumy, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv,
Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and Kherson. The situation was most difficult in Donetsk
and Kherson oblasts.
Electricity consumption also increased. As of 9:30 a.m. on
June 22, demand was 2.2% higher than at the same time on the previous working
day, June 19. Ukrenergo said the increase was caused by rising temperatures in
most oblasts.
