Ukraine downs 68 of 80 Russian attack drones

Russian forces launched 80 Shahed, Geran, and other types of attack drones at Ukraine overnight, the Air Force reported on Telegram on Dec. 12.
The drones were launched from multiple locations in Russia’s Bryansk, Oryol, and Kursk, oblasts, as well as from Krasnodar Krai and Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea.
The attack was countered by air forces, air defense missile units, electronic-warfare teams, unmanned-systems units, and mobile fire groups across the country.
By 9 a.m., Ukrainian defenders had shot down or suppressed 64 drones. Eight sites were targeted by 12 drones. Three other sites reported damage from downed drone debris.
The attack is ongoing, with several Russian drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.
