The EU is deeply shocked by the atrocities committed by invading Russian forces in the town of Izyum in Kharkiv Oblast, the high representative of the European Union for foreign policy, Josep Borrell, stated on Sept. 16.
“Russia‘s leadership & all those involved will be held accountable,” Borrell promised.
“The EU supports every effort to this end.”
On Sept. 15, mass graves were found in the forest belt near Izyum..
The head of the Kharkiv Region Police Investigation Department, Serhii Bolvinov, said that about 440 graves were found at the site. 99% of the exhumed bodies at the site show signs of violent death and torture, stated Kharkiv regional governor Oleg Synehubov.
