Kyiv has no secrets from the CIA due to their “excellent relations” and Ukrainian intelligence agencies maintain contact with their American counterparts, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed during an interview with U.S. television channel CNN on July 3.

He also confirmed that he had met with CIA chief William Burns, who recently made a “secret” visit to Ukraine .

“My communication with the CIA Director should always be behind the scenes,” explained Zelenskyy.

“We discuss important matters: Ukraine’s needs and how Ukraine is prepared to act. The situation is quite straightforward. We have good relations with the head of the CIA, and we communicate. I have informed him about all the important matters related to the battlefield that we require.”

On July 1, The Washington Post reported that Bruin had made an undisclosed visit to Kyiv. The publication suggested that during the visit, Ukrainian authorities revealed their strategies for reclaiming territories occupied by Russia, and purportedly discussed initiating ceasefire negotiations with Moscow by the end of the year.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
