Explosions at Russian ammo depot in Crimea causing evacuations
In an apparent attack on an ammunition depot near Dzhankoy, explosions were recorded near the airfield in the village of Krasnohvardiyske in Crimea on the morning of July 24, local Telegram channels reported, publishing a video
The explosions are said to have come from the village of Vesele, where there is a military airfield that is not officially operational.
An ammunition depot in the Dzhankoy district was hit in a drone attack, reported Moscow-apponted puppet governor Sergey Aksyonov. He claims 11 drones were "neutralized" and the debris allegedly damaged a private house in the Kirovskyi district.
Occupation “authorities” have suspended railroad traffic in the Dzhankoy district and on the Dzhankoy-Simferopol highway "for safety reasons". Aksyonov also announced the "evacuation" of residents of villages within a five-kilometer radius of the explosion site.
A series of explosions were heard in occupied Crimea on July 22, resulting in a fire near the village of Oktyabrske, about 43 km from Simferopol. Occupation "administration" reported a drone attack. Aksyonov later admitted that the UAV strike "caused a detonation at an ammunition dump."
A fire broke out at a training ground in Crimea’s Kirovskyi (Islamteretskyi) district on July 19, causing a Russian army ammunition depot near Staryi Krym to burn and explode for more than a day.
Ukrainian authorities did not comment on the explosions. Defense Intelligence said that the "comment" attributed to spy chief Kyrylo Budanov about the involvement of Ukraine’s SBU and the HUR was fake.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
