Explosions heard in Kropyvnytskyi after Ukrainian Air Force warned of approach of Russian missile

Explosions were heard in Kropyvnytskyi, Kirovohrad Oblast during an air raid alert on Jan. 4, Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne reported.

The Air Force warned of a missile approaching the city.

Civilians were urged not to post photos and videos of the attack on the Internet by Kirovohrad City Military Administration head, Andriy Raikovych. He also promised to release details later.

An air raid alert was announced in Kirovohrad Oblast at 9:37 a.m. EET. The Air Force reported enemy aircraft active in the southeastern Ukraine, as well as the threat of air weapons.

The air raid alert was cancelled at 10:10 a.m.

Explosions were heard in Kropyvnytskyi, Kirovohrad region, during the nationwide air raid alert.

Russia carried out another massive attack on Ukraine in several waves starting in the evening of Jan. 1-2. Ukraine eliminated all 35 Shahed attack drones in the first wave, while missiles, including ballistic Kinzhals, were launched from 16 Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the second wave.
