Explosions hit Belgorod, causing power and water outages

Explosions were reported overnight in Russia's Belgorod, where residents experienced power and water outages following the strike, according to the Russian news outlet Astra on July 4.
According to preliminary reports, the attack triggered a fire at the Luch thermal power plant.
Belgorod region Gov. Alexander Shuvayev said the city came under a "massive strike." According to him, the attack damaged infrastructure facilities and caused disruptions to electricity and water supplies.
"Fires broke out at several infrastructure sites, and firefighting crews are working at the scene," he wrote.
Earlier on July 3, an attack in Belgorod damaged a power substation at a thermal power plant, causing electricity and water outages in parts of the city.
According to OSINT project Astra, the strike targeted the 110-kilovolt substation of the Michurinskaya gas turbine thermal power plant.
A fire was also reported at one of the infrastructure facilities. In addition, energy infrastructure and five vehicles were damaged.
Astra noted that the Michurinskaya thermal power plant had also come under attack in February.
On March 25, Russian authorities reported a missile strike in Belgorod region that they said seriously damaged energy infrastructure. The attack caused disruptions to electricity, water and heating supplies in Belgorod and surrounding areas, knocked out traffic lights and left parts of the city without power.
