Explosions were reported in occupied Crimea, in particular near the cities of Simferopol, Sevastopol and Dzhankoy, on Dec. 10. Pro-Kremlin officials claimed that the explosions are the result of “the work of air defense”.
Local telegram channels first reported the sounds of explosions in Crimea. Specifically, they reported that a “loud bang” was heard near the Sevastopol airport.
Telegram channels also report an explosion in Dzhankoy.
Meanwhile, occupation administration head Sergey Aksyonov confirmed that there were sounds of explosions near Simferopol. He insisted that air defense was the cause.
“All services are working normally,” he stated.
“I ask everyone to keep calm and trust only official information.”
A fire broke out early in the morning of Dec. 10 in the barracks in the town of Sovetske in Crimea, where Russian conscripts were reportedly quartered. Casualties have already been confirmed.
