Several powerful explosions heard in Mariupol, says mayor
Several powerful explosions were heard throughout the occupied city of Mariupol on the morning of May 13, Mariupol mayoral advisor Petro Andryushchenko reported on Telegram.
“Another powerful explosion,” he wrote.
“It was heard in all areas of the city. This time the epicenter is towards Azovstal. There are also reports of a visible flight of a missile from the direction of Volnovakha towards the city, but it could either be a case of ‘barking up the wrong tree’, or ‘hope for the best’. We are clarifying the details."
A local pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel, Mariupol Resistance, reported that the sound was very loud and the “shocks were similar to an earthquake.”
The channel confirmed that the sound originated from the direction of the Azovstal steelworks.
